Midas Touch

I always forget rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit. The last time I remembered was several years ago and later that week I found a handful of forgotten Krugerrands in the pocket of a forgotten ski jacket (how they got there in the first place is an entirely different story).

After some heady googling I've learned that this superstition dates back as early as 1420 (possibly 1200) and has several different variations. My favourite:

Saying "white rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit" as the first words of the month, before getting out of bed -- and the speaker must first reverse position, so that speaker's head is at the foot of the bed & vice versa.

But I did remember rabbit rabbit this morning (I didn't know about reversing bed positions yet) and then spent most of the day immersed in taxes. *shudder*

And the month of June has already started to improve. Tonight I found a ticket stub in my wallet dated Mar 2-08 for the movie 'Jumper' at the Savoy on O'Connell Street. Within seconds I was grinning like an idiot. Although I remember the film as being mediocre, the memory of how I got to that movie theatre is worth more than any pot o' gold.

I'm just trying to work out my differential tax allowances for false teeth using the 'grab back' facility as agreed under the 2004 appendix ref: 2004/365/nc/sm/xxx paragraph beginning 'If you've got this far, it's probably time for a lie down' - reeeeeesult! *snooze*
