The Restoration War

In the 17th century, the Portuguese Restoration War between Portugal and Spain ended the sixty year period of the Iberian Union.

In the 21st century, restorations continue with hopes of solidifying the Papersurfer Union.
The work is slow but precise and methodical. Glimpses of future grandeur motivate today's progress (a few more glimpses available on Flickr). As a useless observer, I am enthralled by the endless decorating possibilities. I dream of sipping vinho tinto alfresco, watching the sunset and picking lemons from the balcony.

Are we there yet?

If you intend to sit on the balcony for long periods, polishing off more than one garrafa do vino tinto, can I recommend that you get some cushions for that chair?

"Forgotten brush" reminds me of a 'forgotten hammer' someone, not saying who but it begins with a Pea and ends with a brain(?), left on a beam in another barn quite a long time ago. Penfold will remember...

wvf - shentus - must mean something

I'm glad to see my room is coming along nicely! Can't wait!

Somnam, judging from those shaky legs I'd guess that chair is a leftover from Iberian times ... (hmmm, wonder if the Antique Roadshow will pass through these parts anytime soon ...)

TG, shentus - is that Iberian for feng-shui? x

Daisyfae, if I could just solve the monitor glare problem, I'd be sipping AND working outside!

DaddyP, careful - you never know who might be in the car ... ;-)

Wendy! Your room is almost ready, just a few details ... like a floor ... and a door ... and windows ... and walls ... hmmm. May need to schedule the AGM in Porto ... ;-)

are those berries "hairy"? they look kind of like a lychee type thingo

tNb said...

Thanks NM, quite lychee-like but more stubbly than hairy - I haven't found a volunteer brave enough to taste them yet ...

If you and Penfold choose to have children, yourselves or adopt...please OH PLEASE get movies of DP playing with blocks on the floor.

tNb said...

JohnC, I don't think DP needs any excuse (children or otherwise) to play on the floor ... ;-)

Well I'm certainly not getting down on all fours after his latest stunt with rodents.

Sage advice John. That mouse has the power to make your eyes water. Just ask Richard Gere. And If you see DP lurking around the corner with an empty loo roll tube, well just get out, man. Run.

I see that your blog has been soiled with comments about Vater Papersurfer and his maus. Tsk.

John C said...

I just got a graphic image of the mice, the tube, and...everything was sideways and...

Geez, that's gross!

tNb said...

JohnC, quick think of something else! Find your happy place ... get us out of here!

M.Woppit, you just had to riase the Richard Gere incident, didn't you? Now we're all scarred ... it will take decades to forget this.

Frau von Sauertraut, I'm surprised to see you here after the WBC's cold rejection of this site ... perhaps you've changed your mind?

Listen, I'm providing a service here you know.
If you see that mouse sneaking up on you, you had better bear down and prepare for a treat....

...it ain't workin' DP.

Talk me down, man...TALK ME DOWN!
